KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 21 (Bernama) -- Mandarin language training centre, Kunkwan International Mandarin Training Centre has been listed on the ASEAN Records to acknowledge its achievement of training almost 450,000 students since 2014.

The centre said that the listing makes it one of the most influential language education institutions in South East Asia.

“Kunkwan Group founder and chief executive officer Kent Ng Kun Kwan also celebrated another success this year in August after being named as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World, representing Malaysia at the international level as an excellent entrepreneur.

“Under his leadership, the ninth edition of Suara Semua Carnival took place on Oct 19, with 60 participants and 11 finalists from ASEAN countries,” the centre said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Ng said that the carnival was meant to showcase cultural exchange and integration in ASEAN member countries.

“ASEAN is young, peaceful and full of energy. I believe ASEAN is the future. And Kunkwan’s duty is to bring together all voices to truly become ‘Suara Semua’,” Ng said.

A female Indonesian student, 19, who just arrived in Malaysia to further her studies won the final of the Suara Semua Carnival  with a rendition of a Chinese song, while second place went to a Malay from Malaysia who sang a Thai song, and third place was won by another Malaysian Malay performing a Filipino song.
