4,000 JOIN CIMB ASEAN CULTURAL NIGHT RUN 2025 ON PENANG SECOND BRIDGE
GEORGE TOWN, Aug 16 (Bernama) -- With nearly 4,000 participants, the CIMB ASEAN Cultural Night Run 2025 (CIMB ACNR 2025) stood as a symbol of unity, healthy living and the celebration of ASEAN culture, says Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.
He said the run, which marked its fourth edition, took place in a lively atmosphere on the Penang Second Bridge tonight, in conjunction with Malaysia’s ASEAN chairmanship.
“The prestigious event was organised by the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) and Koperasi LLM Berhad, with the involvement of the Works Ministry (KKR) in supporting the ASEAN chairmanship agenda, with CIMB Bank as the main sponsor.
“The spirit of the ‘ASEAN Way’ was reflected through international participation, further strengthening regional integration and fostering a sense of togetherness as ASEAN citizens,” he said after flagging off the participants here tonight.
Apart from combining elements of recreational fun and competitive running, CIMB ACNR 2025 also showcased artistic and traditional cultural performances from Malaysia and other ASEAN countries, including the Philippines.
To enliven the event, a total of RM21,000 in cash prizes was offered to winners of the contested categories, along with 30 prizes for the best traditional costumes in the men’s, women’s and children’s categories, as well as 30 lucky draw prizes for registered participants.
