Sabah State Election: Warisan machinery mobilised to explain situation over dissolution, snap polls

KOTA KINABALU, Aug 4 -- The Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) machinery has been mobilised to provide information to the people regarding the decision to dissolve the State Legislative Assembly as well as the implementation of the Sabah State Election.

Warisan vice-president Datuk Junz Wong led a door-to-door campaign in Tanjung Aru Lama and Tanjung Aru Baru here along with Putatan Warisan Division chief Datuk Awang Ahmad Sah and the division's youth wings

During the meetings, Wong explained that the state election was being held to return the mandate to the people to elect the government.

"If possible, we (Warisan) also do not want elections to be held because we want to develop Sabah through the various programmes planned, including in the agriculture and fisheries sectors, but it has been interrupted," he said in a statement here today.

Wong also claimed that some elected representatives who hopped over to other parties had regretted their actions and wished to return to Warisan after the Sabah State Assembly was dissolved.

"But, is this the political culture that the people of Sabah want to continue with, and I believe the answer is no," he said.

Wong said in this regard, the state election was the best option to put the decision in the hands of the people.
