TUARAN, Sept 12 -- It was a memorable moment for Nancy Mison, 50, a vegetable seller from Kampung Topokan near here, to meet the country’s number one leader in person.
The mother of four, who has been selling fresh vegetables from her village at the General Market in Tuaran for the past three years, said she felt blessed to have the opportunity to meet with Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today.
Nancy said she could feel the prime minister’s concern for the people through her brief conversation with him.
She added that Muhyiddin asked what good dish a particular vegetable would make and that she replied that it was best cooked with salted fish.
For Siah Sepok, 60, from Mengkabong, a trader at Tuaran's Fish Market, she was elated to be able to see the prime minister whom she has only seen on television, before her very eyes, if only briefly.
The prime minister spent about an hour getting acquainted with the traders at the two markets.
