KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 12 -- The DAP has sacked Julius Favianus, a member of its Liawan branch, with immediate effect for standing as a candidate for the Bingkor seat in today's nominations for the Sabah state election on a Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) ticket.
DAP Disciplinary Committee chairman Chong Chieng Jen explained that the party and its coalition partners in Warisan Plus in Sabah had decided that the Bingkor seat be contested by the DAP's candidate on a Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) ticket.
"Any party member standing as a candidate against the agreement reached by the Warisan Plus coalition partners is an act of insubordination and indiscipline.
"It is also an act of betrayal to the people who wish to retain the Warisan Plus government. DAP will not tolerate such betrayal which warrants the immediate termination of his/her party membership," he said in a statement here.
The DAP's candidate for the seat is Odom @ Peter Dhoms Saili @ Soili. Warisan Plus is made up of Warisan, DAP, UPKO, PKR and Amanah.
Polling is on Sept 26.
