KALABAKAN, Sept 26 -- The Barisan Nasional’s (BN) sole woman candidate contesting in the Kukusan seat Chaya Sulaiman lost to Rina Jainal of Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) by just 10 votes.

In the six-cornered fight, Chaya garnered 2,824 votes while Rina earned 2,834 votes.

Voter turnout in the constituency was reported at 53.97 per cent from 12,640 registered voters.

The four other candidates were Ismail Idris @ Pakcik EL of USNO (80 votes); Taufik Muin of Parti Cinta Sabah (75); Wong Jin Soon of Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah (796); Rosdiansa Mohd Noor of Parti Perpaduan Rakyat Sabah (34) and Lee Boon King of Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (21).
