KOTA KINABALU, Sept 29 -- Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah today congratulated Sulaman assemblyman Datuk Hajiji Mohd Noor on his appointment as the 16th Sabah Chief Minister.
He said Tuaran-born Hajiji had once been a radio announcer with Radio Televisyen Malaysia in 1976.
“All the best serving the people of Sabah,” he said in a Twitter posting today.
Hajiji, 65, who is also Sabah Perikatan Nasional chairman, was sworn in as Chief Minister before Sabah Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin at Istana Negeri here today.
Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) won the 16th Sabah election on Saturday with a simple majority to take over the state government from Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) after winning 38 out of the total 73 state seats.
